Yabusame is the name given to a ceremony in which archers shoot arrows while galloping on horseback. According to the flyer (left), the ceremony in Takeo, where I was, has remained virtually unchanged since the 11th century. With the exclusion of the fact that there were never so many Gaijin at Yabusame back in the day. This particular festival featured many JETs and JET friends, as well as an assortment of people clad in seriously cool outfits from days of yesteryear.
