gas prices

GasBuddy.com has a fun little interactive map that lets you explore gas prices across the US. If you zoom in really close to where I live, Ann Arbor, Michigan, you will see the prices are among the highest in the nation - my local station was $3.999 today. The radio reported oil had crossed the $130/barrel mark yesterday, so I don't see a decline anytime soon. (via TreeHugger)

That's one thing that makes me sad about Arkansas - public transport is quite nearly nonexistent. But the Yaris makes us not care so much about it.

I just filled up today at $3.89 a gallon, but we live in an odd little void of Southern California with cheap gas--most surrounding areas are over $4.00.

I'm still riding the bus to/from work here in Manchester, NH. Sadly, they're slashing next year's Transit Authority budget so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that for too much longer. I think gas is around $3.89/gallon around here.

The Labor day price hike took us to 4.199, which was momentarily exciting. I went hunting for historical gas prices in the US and turned up this page which gets you data back to 1992 (which is a lot longer ago than I like to think it is).
It's kind of interesting, because both last year and this year the prices had sort of stabilized going into the new year, then went crazy in the first five months or so of the year. This year it looks like they've gone up about 33 percent or so.
